Florida State Universities Parking Rules

Parking at Florida State University comes with many rules that must be followed. These rules depend on who you are in relation to the University, where on campus you are parked, and what location (parking garage, gravel lot, normal lot) you choose to park in. if you are a student, with a free virtual student permit, you may park in “white spaces, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM” and in “red spaces  after 4:30 PM (unless denoted by signage) until 7:30 AM, Monday - Friday.” (Parking Overview 1). If you are faculty, you may park in “red spaces on Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM” and in “white spaces after 4:30 PM until 7:30 AM, Monday – Friday” (Parking Overview 1). For both groups, it is expected that you “park nose-in” (Parking Overview 1). For overnight parking, its available on the “top floor of all parking garages, as well as the top 2 floors of the Traditions Garage and floors 2 - 7 of the Pensacola Street Garage.” This includes ramps that lead up to these overnight levels. Depending on the surface lot, there may be additional parking that is allowed for overnight (Parking overview 1). To park on campus in a motorcycle or scooter, a special permit is required, this permit is the “"VMC" Motorcycle 24/7 Permit” and may be purchased online on the website (Parking Overview 1). Many of these rules are subject to be changed based on signs that are displayed on the front of each lot or garage. Additionally, game days affect rules for parking garages and emails get sent out to students and stuff regarding these rules changes when they may occur.
